Deposits and Part Payments

This is one screen in PepStockApp StoreGoogle Play

A customer who pays some now and the rest later has a running balance on their order. Open the sale and look under Payment: the total, what has been paid, and what is still due.

Add Payment records each one on its own — the amount, the date, how it was paid (cash, check, card, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, crypto, bank transfer) and a reference such as a check number or the last four digits of a card. An order settled with a check and then a card keeps both, with both methods, rather than one merged figure.

The balance comes down as payments go in, and the sale marks itself paid when it reaches zero — you do not have to remember to tick it. Pay more than the total and the extra reads as credit rather than as a negative balance.

Your Dashboard, Cash Position, the sales list, the receipt you send the buyer, and the sales and financial CSV exports all read the same figures. A part-paid order shows PART PAID with what is left, instead of simply UNPAID.

Correcting one: swipe a payment away to remove it. To keep the history instead, add a payment with a negative amount — the record then shows what happened rather than hiding it.

Sales you already had are untouched: an order with no payments recorded behaves exactly as before, paid or unpaid.
