Postage, Fees and Other Charges

This is one screen in PepStockApp StoreGoogle Play

A sale can carry charges beyond the goods: postage, an admin fee, a rush surcharge, or anything you type. They are added once for the whole order, not per product — a customer buying three compounds in one parcel pays one postage.

Each charge says whether the money is yours. Leave *Collected for someone else* off for a fee you keep: it counts as revenue, so it raises your sales figure and your margin. Turn it on for money you owe onward — postage to a courier is the obvious one — and it reaches your profit without inflating any product's margin.

The trade's word for the second kind is a disbursement: money collected on someone else's behalf.

On your reports both are shown, and in different places. Everything you charge appears as of which charges charged underneath your sales total, because it is already inside that figure — printing it as its own addition would count it twice. What the charge costs you appears as of which charges paid onward inside Cost of Sales, directly against it, and Charges margin is what the fees actually made.

A charge is rarely all yours or all someone else's. Charge $12 for a rush and pay the courier $9 for it and you made $3 — so type what it costs you in Costs you when you add the charge, and the report says $3 rather than $12.

Refunding an order hands its charges back too. The switch is on by default and tells you what it means before you tap it.

⚠️ The part nobody expects: the courier does not refund you when you refund your buyer. Refund that $12 rush fee and the buyer gets $12 back while the $9 you already paid onward is gone — you are $9 down, and the app says so rather than reporting a tidy nothing.

Charges you have used before are offered next time so you pick Admin fee rather than typing it. Only the words are remembered, never the amount — a remembered price would drop a stale number into a new sale without you noticing.
