Help Guide › Owner
A big order rarely arrives in one parcel. Open a purchase, or a sale, and under Deliveries (or Shipments on a sale) you can record each parcel on its own — carrier, tracking number, status, an expected date, and what is inside it.
The order then shows the two facts that matter: each parcel's own status, and the whole order's — "1 of 2 arrived". The purchases list shows the same summary instead of a single tracking number, so an order two thirds on your shelf does not read as *in transit*.
What is inside a parcel is why this is worth filling in. Record 30 of 50 units as Delivered and 20 as In Transit, and the footer tells you what is still to come. Only parcels marked Delivered count as arrived.
You can also record a parcel with no contents — just a tracking number. That is a normal thing to do and it changes none of your stock figures.
Nothing you already have is affected. An order with no parcels recorded behaves exactly as it did before, using the single tracking number it already has, and that field is still there.
Parcels travel in your backup, the Shipments & Deliveries CSV export lists every one with its contents, and a customer's receipt shows the parcels their order went out in instead of one tracking line.
