Version 3.0 corrected two things about how profit is worked out. Going forward every figure is right. Looking backward, some periods now report different numbers than they did before — this explains which, and why the new number is the better one.
If a period had no postage and no reseller own-use pulls, nothing changed. Same revenue, same profit, to the cent.
If a reseller took stock for themselves, that period's profit goes up. Previously an own-use pull was left out of profit entirely, while the money they owed you still counted as cash coming in — so your cash and your profit drifted apart by the margin on every pull, with nothing anywhere explaining the gap. It is now counted as a sale to them, at the rate they owe you, with the cost of the stock against it. That is a real change to a reported figure, and the new one is correct. Your sales figures, units sold and reseller leaderboard still leave own-use out, exactly as before.
If a period had postage, your net profit is unchanged, but gross profit and gross margin read higher than they used to. Postage now counts as revenue, and the carrier's charge counts as a cost — but orders you recorded before 3.0 have no carrier cost saved, because the field did not exist yet. So the postage income is there with nothing against it.
You can fix any past order: open it from Sales, tap the sale, and type what the carrier charged you into Postage cost to you. That period's gross margin drops to the truth. There is no need to do this — net profit is already right either way, and it only affects orders you posted before updating.
One export column was renamed. In the financials export, `shipping_collected` is now `of_which_shipping_collected` and sits under the sales total, because it is now part of that total rather than a figure to add on. If a spreadsheet of yours added that column onto sales, it should stop. The same goes for the new `of_which_own_use`, `of_which_carrier_cost` and `of_which_own_use_cost` lines — anything starting "of which" is already inside the total above it.
The Android app changed in exactly the same way and reports the same figures.
